It would fit very well in a Animal Crossing game.
It would fit very well in a Animal Crossing game.
It feels like music for a mechanical spaceship (as weird as it sounds). The lead synth, the arpeggios and the static drums make it feel really alien and robotic but not weird, which is probably this hard to explain feeling of yours.
Love It!
Very atmospheric. I really liked the first 30 sec of this track with these floating chords and that perc thingy but it doesn´t go anywhere...
The rest is just adding a new drum element every fourth bar. There is no real melody or lead sound (technically the synth at 0:44 but it only plays the same 4 notes over and over and over) and the chords don´t change either. The best thing about this track are definitly the drums and percussion. Near the end there are these snares(?) with some reverb in the backround which give this track a lot of energy and sound cool.
The main thing lacking is variaty and experimentation which is admittedly pretty difficult to do when using a new DAW. Maybe work on some tracks, maybe even rearrange some of your older tracks in FL Studio just so you have a better understanding of this programm.
In conclusion: An atmospheric track that sadly doesn´t go further than just some basic ideas.
P.S: Sorry for over-analysing this track/demo. Had nothing better to do
Yea i know, i plan on adding stuff later on, but originally i was planning on making it pretty simple too so yea, though im also making something else that, if i ever finish it, could be my best one so far, so look forward to it, but not too much
So incredibly good! Giving me a lot of Iglooghost vibes! Keep it up!
Thanks guys! Glad you enjoyed the track and had a nice Halloween!
It shows that you put a lot of time into this piece. The synth are really cool, especially around 1:28. I also like the middle part 0:53-1:10 because of the "kinda glitchy synth" and the drums which have a cool rhythm to it.
By far the biggest problem is the mixing and sound production. It sounds like a demo, a amazing demo with a lot of potential but still a demo. Big part probably because there is pretty much no bass throughout the track. Try listening to other house/EDM songs (even ones with high ratings on newgrounds) and then immidiatly listen to your song again. You should probably hear a difference. It´s a bit short with less than 2 min. length time as well.
Musically it sounds really awesome, kinda reminds me of Flume but production wise it is kinda rough.
I really hope that you´re remaking this track in the future with more experience in mixing.
Still a very cool track!
Thanks I’ll try my best to improve
The best thing about this track by far is the incredible sound production and mixing. Everything sounds very clear. Especially during the intro, the way those bell-like sounds whirl around and how clearly the drums and perc are with the right amount of reverb. So good.
Maybe you could have used different leads for the melody lines during the breakdown since it gets relativly repetitive. The variation you added near the end definitly changes things up in a good way. The part from 3:00-3:12 could have been changed since it is pretty much the same as the 4 bars before it only with hihats and perc. When it first comes around 1:25 it was new but by then we already heard it.
Nitpicks aside it is a really good track with wonderful mixing!
The entire track is really good! The sound design creates a very cool atmosphere. The way you mixed the orchestral parts with these robotic sounds is really interesting. If it was a track to a video game it would fit in perfectly as backround music when you walk through ruins and fight monsters. But as a individual track it doesn´t work as well as in a video game.
The track doesn´t have a built-up or anything that keeps you going as a listener. The excitement stays pretty flat, sometimes it´s goes up like in 1:45 but immediatly goes back down. The track repeats itself after 3:00 (I think, the two parts sound extremly similar) which makes absolutly sense in a video game but in a song not as much.
I think while you were making this you had a video game ruin in mind and build it around this concept rather than an individual sound piece to active listing to.
Still, it is a cool track with a very cool sound design which, for itself is kinda repetitive but still interesting, yet inside of a video game would be brilliant.
Thank you for the feedback! So, most of the time when I write music it’s actually meant to be in a video game. That’s why the loops are very particular and stuff like that. I honestly don’t really have any education want to comes to music so I’ve been trying to teach myself over the years. I’ll see what improvements I can make in the future though!
I like this track. It´s kinda weird (I don´t know why, I think it´s the sound design) but it still feels familiar and like home. For some reason it reminds me of your profil pic :)
The main and pretty much only problem for me are the drums. They are mixed to the foreground and kinda overshadow the rest. With an Equalizer, Freq Filter and a tiny bit reverb the drums would be more in the backround and they would have fit in better. Maybe you could´ve add more instruments/synths to mix it up a little, too.
Still, a very chill song!
Thanks, will work on that in the future, the drums were probably too much when I relisten to it, thanks for the review!
Hi! I´m just some random guy making all kinds of music for the internet.
